The short, honest version. Earlywire is a free tool run by one person, Baris Asa.

What the wire collects

Two things, both minimal:

• If you join the waitlist: your email, a timestamp, your browser's user-agent, and a one-way hash of your IP. The email is used once, to tell you when the paid tier ships. Nothing else, ever. No selling, no sharing, no other mail.
• Anonymous usage counts: page views, copy-clicks, and MCP tool calls, with a country code and a short hash of your IP. Raw IP addresses are never stored. No cookies, no cross-site tracking, no ad profiles.

What the wire serves

Earlywire returns short excerpts of third-party articles (tldr, an editor note, ~300 characters) and always links to the original source. Full article text never leaves the source; we don't republish it. Copyright stays with each publisher. If you're a publisher and want a source removed, mail the address above.

Terms, plainly

The service is provided as-is, with no warranty. Scores and summaries are generated by an automated editor model and can be wrong — verify anything that matters at the linked source. The free tier is rate-limited and may change or pause at any time. Don't abuse the endpoint or try to scrape it wholesale.
